Our Breeding Objectives

Herd Health & Characteristics

• Parasite resistance and good pasture management has resulted in 3 lambs dewormed so far in 2009, NO need for deworming in 2008. We dewormed one sheep in 2007 and three in 2006 (using the FAMACHA system for judging parasite loads).
• No CL, soremouth or footroot observed in the flock since founding in 2000. Foundation stock purchased from a herd with no contagious diseases and enrolled in scrapie program. Flock is closed save for an occassional ram purchase for flock improvement (from the same clean herd source of our foundation stock.)
• No lambing problems requiring intervention in this flock for four years.
• Good longevity and productivity -- our three oldest ewes are over 10 years of age and all produced twins last year without incident.
• Flock is accustomed to electric fence and has been lightly worked by stockdogs. Fast and free moving for those looking for herding sheep.

	2009 Ewe lamb -- Born in early February, this white ewe lamb has nice length of body and depth. One of twins, I expect her to shed out completely her second year. Baldric daughter. $150
	2009 Ewe lamb -- Nice thick bodied red and white ewe lamb, spitting image of her maternal grandsire, Basil. This February lamb is ready to join your flock and start producing! $175
	2009 ewe lamb, horned -- long bodied, strongly built 2009 ewel lamb in a frosted red color. This girl has horns, but is not aggressive or foolish with them. $125
	May 2009 white ewe lamb -- This little ewe is from a set of twins by Baldric out of a yearling first freshener. She is small, but healthy and vigorous. Consider acquiring her to grow out for a freezer lamb or to see if she grows into a breeding ewe. (See dam's picture at right--dam is not for sale.) $100
	2009 Black & White Ram Lamb Fastest growing ram lamb of the season. Mother is a top producer who is 1/4 Dorper 3/4 Katahdin. Sire is Baldric. $175
	2009 Rare Color (tri-spot) Ram Lamb Handsome, well-equipped 2009 ram lamb, ready to go to work in your flock. SOLD -- Thank you Lisa!
	May 2009 Ram Lamb -- This little guy was a late comer, but is starting to make strides in his growth. Another lamb that I expect will shed well his second year. His dam is 12 years old this year, has never had a problem birthing, and produced twins, all but this year. He is going to have a nice red and white spotted coat. Has the long body of his sire and the nice neck and shoulder structure of his dam. Because he's young and has not reached breeding growth, he's a deal at $100.

Sheep must be paid for in cash and picked up at the farm. If you would like your new sheep dewormed before they leave our farm there is an additional $10 charge per animal. Ewes will have been exposed to a ram at time of pick up. We sell on a first come, first served basis, so if you would like to buy sheep, please make arrangements to pick them up promptly.
