The Van Echo Family

The Family

Jay – Loving Goat Husband, long road trip driver, barn builder, hay stacker, best friend.

Brianna - Oldest daughter, with a Masters degree in Social Work. Never has done a thing in the barn but absolutely wonderful never the less. Married to Tim Hale a wonderful addition to our family. Bri and Tim delivered our newest farmhand, granddaughter Makenna on September 21, 2008!

Dylan – Only son, Regional Commercial Sales Rep for Sherwin Williams and side line of real estate investment properties. Barn builder, welder, hay stacker, designer and welder for goat trailer, etc. He is irreplaceable in my life with the goats and the farm. More busy now than ever but can always be depended on when I call and need him. Very cute and strong besides!

Lauren – Middle daughter, Supervisor of Instruction for Sylvan Learning Institute in Tucson. Occasionally finds the barn an interesting place to be and has actually touched goats! Can usually find time to check in and see what is happening at the farm! Mostly interested in baby goats and puppies. Lauren is engaged to be married in May of 2010 and we could not possibly be happier with the addition of Chase to our growing family. Having come from a family involved with livestock he is the perfect addition in my life!

Cassidi – Youngest daughter, now graduated with a degree in Marketing but has now put her sights on her start at the Nursing Program at the University of Arizona. Decided to follow in Mom's footsteps and add a RN after her name! In a pinch I can always depend on her for her showmanship skills and I think she remembers some of the goats names!

Sir Echo Farms Logo

The Logo

Always dreamed of having a mountain to run the goats up and down. Pre-requisite for purchasing this property much to my family's chagrin! The swirling sun in the name is a symbol for a strong woman and the goats are golden just because they are! The mountain and the cactus are the epitome of Sir Echo Farm here in the Sonoran Desert. Designed by Denise Kindall my friend. She climbed the mountain with us and was inspired to give us this beautiful logo.

The beautiful barn

The Barn

A true labor of love and a gift from my entire family. A goat girls dream come true. Most grateful appreciation to all the boys who are extended family and friends of my kids, who have over the years made all my dreams come true. From the trees not being disturbed during the building, to the beautiful loft where I sleep during kidding season, hot and cold running water in a heated and air conditioned milk room, magnificent feeders, and a picture window made from a sliding glass door at the top of the west end of the barn so that my view of the mountains from the loft was not disturbed!!!!

And of course the goats

I am most grateful to Leta Davis and Colleen Monahan for my start in my Oberhasli herd. Without those animals I would never be having the breeding program I have today. Thanks go also to Lorrie Echols, Jean White, Chris Alexander, Kristin Loughlin, and the Swiss Breeders for sharing their genetics through the wonderful world of AI.
